The all new Foursquare is the best app for local search and discovery. By learning what you like, Foursquare recommends nearby places you'll love and offers insider tips when you get there. Red Antler led the process of rebranding the all new Foursquare and I helped finalize, refine, and implement the system.

A whole new look

Foursquare's old wordmark and app icon had gone relatively untouched since the company's start in 2010 resulting in a stale brand system. If you were to ask anyone from our design team, they’d say we were stuck in a Web 2.0 and needed a refresh. We worked closely with our friends at Red Antler to guide us through the process and help us develop a fresh and powerful brand system.

All New Visual Style and Iconography

I had the fun yet challenging task of designing Foursquare's iconography, animations, and other visual design seen throughout the app. We wanted the icons to feel fun and unique so I we came up with a bulbous styling to bring an extra level of character to the app.
